Synopsis: This species was not confirmed to nest in Oregon during the atlas project period, but nested in the state many decades ago. During the atlas project, individual birds were found at two locations with marginally suitable habitat.

Relative Detectability: Difficult to detect and very difficult to confirm nesting.

Challenge: Watch for pairs, and attempt to confirm breeding of any of the few individuals seen almost every year.
